Primary type information: Primary type material: lectotype worker (by designation of Wilson, 1958c: 130 (in text)). Primary type locality: Indonesia: Irian Jaya (“N Dutch New Guinea”), Waigeu I., Camp Nok, 2500 ft, v. 1938 (L.E. Cheesman). Primary type depository: MCZC (lectotype). Type notes: Donisthorpe, 1943a described this species from 10 worker syntypes, all originally deposited in BMNH.
