Primary type information: Type-material: holotype worker. Type-locality: Malaysia: Borneo, Sarawak, Kuching (J. Hewitt). Type-depository: unknown (holotype lost: Brown, 1975: 60). Type notes: This taxon was based on a unique worker: Cerapachys antennatus Smith, 1857a, sensu Wheeler, 1919f: 45, misidentification.

Status as species: Chapman & Capco, 1951: 20.
