Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype workers (number not stated, “a small colony”). Primary type locality: Australia: Victoria, Belgrave (F.E. Wilson). Primary type depositories: MCZC, MVMA. Primary type specimen: ANTWEB1008136. Type notes: The original description cites material from “Victoria, Altona (F.P. Spry), Belgrave (F.E. Wilson), Eltham (J.E. Dixon), Cheltenham (C. Barrett & L.B. Thorn)”, but Clark, 1928a says the species was “described from a small colony from Belgrave”; hence Belgrave is the type locality (Brown, 1952l: 265 (in text)).
