| Type notes | 1) This taxon is based on specimens of Monomorium carbonarium , sensu Forel, 1881: 8, misidentification. Six syntype workers from St Thomas I., dated 14.x.1878, constitute the type-series. 2) The lectotype queen designated by DuBois, 1986: 106, should be set aside as no queen is mentioned in the original type-series, and the lectotype’s locality, St Vincent, does not occur in either of Forel’s publications (1881, 1891b). |
