Etymology Morphological, from the Latin ‘albus’ (= white) + ‘spinus’ (= spined), in reference to the lightly colored integument of the propodeal spines.
Primary type information Primary type material: lectotype worker (by designation of Prebus, 2021b: 265). Primary type locality: lectotype Puerto Rico: Culebra I., iii.1906 (W.M. Wheeler). Primary type depository: MCZC. Primary type specimen: M.C.Z. Type 1-3 21013 (lectotype; specimen furthest from pin).
Secondary type information Secondary type depository: probably AMNH, MCZC, MHNG.
