| Etymology |
Patronym, named in honor of E.O. Wilson, a naturalist and myrmecologist of unmeasurable influence, whose expedition to Hispaniola in 2003 recovered all of the known specimens of Temnothorax wilsoni sp. nov. used in this study. |
