Etymology The species is dedicated to our friend Roberto Viviano, who donated to us most of the material of this species we had the opportunity to examine, collected by him during malacological surveys.
Primary type information Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Italy: Sicily, Monte Pellegrino, 38.1866° N, 13.3539° E, 9.x.2016 (R. Viviano). Primary type depository: MSNG.
Secondary type information Secondary type material: 30 paratype workers, 2 paratype queens. Secondary type locality: 10 paratype workers with same data as holotype; 10 paratype workers, 1 paratype queen (or male?) Monte Pellegrino, 38.1580° N, 13.3664° E, 15.iii.2016 (R. Viviano); 5 paratype workers, 1 paratype queen Monte Pellegrino, 38.1641° N, 13.3466° E, 20.v.2016 (R. Viviano); 5 paratype workers Monte Pellegrino, 38.1558° N, 13.3544° E, 6.v.2018 (R. Viviano). Secondary type depository: MSNG.
Type notes Schifani et al., 2022: 165, cite 30 paratype workers, 2 paratype queens in the heading, but go on to cite only 1 queen and 1 male in the collection details. They include a description of a damaged male (p. 167). It is therefore unclear whether the paratypes consist of 2 queens or 1 queen and 1 male.
