Etymology |
The species is named in honor of the Brazilian myrmecologist Flávia de Araújo Esteves, an amblyoponine specialist. The name is formed directly from a modern personal name “Esteves”. It was formed by adding -ae to the stem of her last name, “Estev”, as it refers to a woman, according to the ICZN code's article 31.1.2. Eponym orthography is unchangeable and does not depend on the generic name for which it is applied. |
