Etymology The term “arenarius” derives from the Latin {arenarius, -a, -um}, meaning “of sand” or “sandy”. So far, all nests have been detected in sandy soils (dune origin).
Primary type information Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Spain: Huelva, Doñana National Park, Doñana Biological Station (EBD-CSIC), 18.xi.2017 (no collector cited, presumably J.L. Reyes-López). Primary type depository: RLC.
