Etymology After Konstantin Andrushchenko (Kaliningrad, Russia), a Baltic amber enthusiast, who provided the amber containing the type specimens and donated it to the Paleontological Museum of the St Petersburg University.

Primary type locality: Russia: Kaliningrad Region, Sambia (Samland) Peninsula, Yantarny; in Baltic amber, Late Eocene, Priabonian age (37.8–33.9 Mya), the Prussian Formation. Primary type depository: PMPSU. Primary type specimen: K-234a.
