Named in honor of the myrmecologist Ana Carolina A. Neundorf, for her contributions to fungus-growing ants’ systematics, fungus-ant interaction, education, and teaching. Following ICZN’s (2005) Article 11.9.1.2, the name of this species should be treated as a noun in the nominative singular standing in apposition to the generic name. |
