Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype males (number not stated). Primary type localities: Brazil: Rio de Janeiro (J. Miers) (invalid restriction of type locality by Borgmeier, 1955: 155; no lectotype designated), Brazil: Sapé, 14.x.1828, at 10 p.m. (W. Burchell). Primary type depository: OXUM (perhaps also BMNH). Primary type specimen: CASENT0901958. Type notes: The Sapé syntype(s) (Paraíba State) were apparently not located by Borgmeier, 1955: 155, who consequently regarded the Rio specimen as a holotype.
