Primary type specimen: DZUP591937 (neotype).
Type notes 1) Original type data: syntype workers (number not stated), Colombia: (no further data) (invalid restriction of type locality by Kempf, 1972b: 174; no lectotype designated), Venezuela: Puerto Caballo [correctly Puerto Cabello] (no collector’s name), MNHU (apparently destroyed in World War II). 2) Marcineiro & Lattke, 2024: 21, cites Roger as the collector of the original Venezuela material. 3) MacKay & MacKay, 2010: 342, state that, “previous records of this species, ranging from Costa Rica south to Bolivia, are apparently misidentifications of Pachycondyla impressa.” But Marcineiro & Lattke, 2024: 23 (in text) affirm its presence in Costa Rica.
