Primary type information: Primary type material: neotype worker (by designation of Marcineiro & Lattke, 2024: 21). Primary type locality: neotype Brazil: Pará, Monte Dourado, 0°49.28007’S 52°41.57580W, 16-18.xi.2010 (C.J. Marsh). Primary type depository: DZUP (neotype). Primary type specimen: DZUP591937 (neotype). Type notes: 1) Original type data: syntype workers (number not stated), Colombia: (no further data) (invalid restriction of type locality by Kempf, 1972b: 174; no lectotype designated), Venezuela: Puerto Caballo [correctly Puerto Cabello] (no collector’s name), MNHU (apparently destroyed in World War II). 2) Marcineiro & Lattke, 2024: 21, cites Roger as the collector of the original Venezuela material. 3) MacKay & MacKay, 2010: 342, state that, “previous records of this species, ranging from Costa Rica south to Bolivia, are apparently misidentifications of Pachycondyla impressa.” But Marcineiro & Lattke, 2024: 23 (in text) affirm its presence in Costa Rica.
