Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype workers (number not stated, “numerous”), 1 syntype queen. Primary type locality: Brazil: Parahyba, Bananeiros, ix.1927 (B. Pickel). Primary type depository: MZSP. Type notes: LaPolla, 2004a: 50, cites 2 syntype queens in MCZC, but the original description says that only a single queen (“uma femea”) was present.
