Brachymyrmex heeri var. termitophilus Forel, 1895c: 179 (w.) BRAZIL (Rio Grande do Sul). Neotropic.

Primary type information: Primary type material: lectotype worker (by designation of Ortiz-Sepúlveda et al., 2019: 530). Primary type locality: lectotype Brazil: Rio Grande do Sul, San Leopoldo (C. Heyer). Primary type depository: MHNG. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 5 paralectotype workers, 1 paralectotype queen. Secondary type locality: same as for lectotype. Secondary type depositories: MHNG, MSNG, NHMB. Type notes: The original description says that the type specimens were received from Wasmann, other original syntypes may therefore be present in NHMM.
