Primary type locality: Colombia: Sierra Madre de Santa Marta, Vista Nieve, 5000 ft, 1927-28 (G. Salt). Primary type depository: MCZC. Type notes: 1) Wheeler, 1942: 250, cites 5 worker, 9 queen syntypes in MCZC. 2) Shattuck, 1995: 25, cites 14 worker, 12 queen syntypes in MCZC.
