Primary type information: Type-material: holotype worker. Type-locality: India: Karnataka, Kumbarakodu Reserve Forest of Sringeri, 13°29’19’’N, 75°11’52’’E, 26.viii.2001 (R.A. Sinu). Type-depository: ATRE. Secondary type information: Paratype-material: 6 paratype workers. Paratype-locality: same as for holotype. Paratype-depositories: ATRE, BMNH, NZSI.

Status as species: Xu et al., 2014a: 35 (in key); Bharti et al., 2015: 123 (in key); Bharti et al., 2016: 53.
