Primary type information: Type-material: holotype worker. Type-locality: Ecuador: Pichincha, Maquipucuna, 5 km. ESE Nanegal, 0°07’N, 78°38’W, 1500 m., 17.viii.1991, no. 11503-10, Winkler sample (P.S. Ward). Type-depository: MCZC. Secondary type information: Paratype-material: 13 paratype workers, 1 paratype queen. Paratype-locality: 6 paratype workers, 1 paratype queen with same data, 7 paratype workers Colombia: Nariño, Barbacoas, Río Nambí, 1100-1300 m., 1.v.1995, no. 204 (F. Escobar). Paratype-depositories: BMNH, CUIC, ICNB, LACM, MCZC, MHNG, MZSP, NHMW, PSWC, USNM. Type notes: 1) The authors also give a paratype depository as NMNH, an abbreviation not in their list; perhaps a misprint for MNHN ?. 2) MZSP received a paratype pin labeled "COLOMBIA, Nariño, Barbacoas, RN Rio Ñambi, 01°17’N 78°15’W, 1300, Interior Bosque, bh-T", but without specimen or triangle. According the original publication, 1 W paratype from the same series of the holotype should be deposited at the MZSP.
