Primary type information: Type-material: 27 syntype workers. Type-locality: French Polynesia: Austral Is, Rapa I., NE ridge Mangaoa Peak, 1000-1200 ft, 6 and 25.vii.1934 (E.C. Zimmerman); other Rapa I. syntypes: E ridge Mt Perahu, 1200-1500 ft, 21.vii.1934 (E.C. Zimmerman), NE slope Mt Tevaitahu, 700-800 ft, 8.vii.1934 (E.C. Zimmerman), S slope Mt Tepiahu, 400-600 ft, 16.vii.1934 (E.C. Zimmerman). Type-depositories: BPBM, MCZC.
