Sericomyrmex wheeleri Weber, 1937: 396, fig. 8 (w.q.) GUYANA. Neotropic.

Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype workers, syntype queens (numbers not stated, “several queens and many workers”). Primary type locality: Guyana (“British Guiana”): Mazaruni River, several miles from Forest Settlement, 29.viii.1935 (N.A. Weber). Primary type depositories: MCZC, MZSP, USNM (perhaps also AMNH). Type notes: Weber, 1958b: 54, cites 6 worker syntypes in USNM.
