Primary type information: Type-material: syntype workers (number not stated). Type-locality: Brazil: São Paulo State (von Ihering). Type-depository: MHNG. Type notes: Borgmeier, 1955: 203 says, “I can safely say that the type-locality is Franca in São Paulo State”. However, Borgmeier gives Garbe as collector’s name for this material, whereas Forel had named von Ihering as collector of the syntypes. The Borgmeier specimens are in MZSP.
