Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype workers (number not stated). Primary type locality: Brazil: São Paulo State (H. von Ihering). Primary type depository: MHNG. Type notes: Borgmeier, 1955: 203 says, “I can safely say that the type locality is Franca in São Paulo State”. However, Borgmeier gives Garbe as collector’s name for this material, whereas Forel, 1912d had named von Ihering as collector of the syntypes. The Borgmeier specimens are in MZSP.
