Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Sri Lanka (“Ceylon”): (no further data) (Nietner). Primary type depository: NHMW. Primary type specimen: CASENT0915911. Type notes: Brown, 1954h: 8 incorrectly designated the Nietner specimen as lectotype of Stictoponera coxalis, which was a misidentification; designation set aside by Lattke & Delsinne, 2016: 146.
