Primary type information: Type-material: holotype (?) worker. Type-locality: French Guiana: Cayenne. Type-depository: “whereabouts unknown”, according to Taylor & Brown, 1985: 5. Type notes: 1) No indication of number of specimens is given. 2) Type-locality corrected to Australia by Roger, 1861a: 35. 3) Fabricius material is mostly in ZMUC; Banks material described by Fabricius is in BMNH. According to Horn & Kahle, 1935: 71, other material exists in OXUM, MNHN, and in very badly damaged condition in ZMUK.
