Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype (?) workers. Primary type locality: French Guiana: (“Habitat Cajennae Dom. v. Rohr.”) (no further data). Primary type depository: “whereabouts unknown” (Taylor & Brown, 1985: 5). Type notes: 1) No indication of number of specimens is given. 2) Type locality corrected to Australia by Roger, 1861a: 35. 3) Fabricius material is mostly in ZMUC and ZMUK (Banks’ material described by Fabricius is in BMNH). 4) According to Horn & Kahle, 1935: 71, other material exists in OXUM, MNHN, and in very badly damaged condition in ZMUK. 5) Zimsen, 1964: 428, cites 2 worker specimens in ZMUK, without comment on their condition.
