Type notes: 1) Original description data: syntype workers (number not stated), U.S.A.: Colorado, Garden of the Gods, 6181 ft, vii.1879 (H.C. McCook), no material known to exist). 2) Snelling, 1976: 122, also nominates 31 “neoparatypes”, a status not recognised by ICZN; these specimens, from the same series as the neotype, are deposited in AMNH, LACM, MCZC, USNM.
