Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype queen. Primary type locality: South Africa: Pretoria, xii.1925 (J.C. Faure). Primary type depository: SAMC. Type notes: Workers from the same series as the holotype are present in BMNH, and possibly also in SAMC, but are not mentioned by Arnold, 1944.

Subspecies of Monomorium delagoense: Ettershank, 1966: 91.
Junior synonym of Monomorium junodi: Bolton, 1987: 346; Bolton, 1995b: 266.
