Primary type information: Type-material: holotype queen. Type-locality: South Africa: Cape of Good Hope (F. Smith). Type-depository: BMNH. Type notes: 1) Holotype is badly damaged. 2) Type-locality is incorrect, probably mislabelled; Paltothyreus tarsatus is absent from this area.
