Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype (?) worker. Primary type locality: Argentina: Buenos Aires, 1866 (P. Strobel). Primary type depository: NHMW (perhaps also MNHN). Type notes: 1) No indication of number of specimens is given. 2) Wild, 2007a: 61, regarded a single specimen in NHMW as holotype, but Chopard, 1921: 238 (footnote) suspected that 2 specimens in MNHN were syntypes.
