Type notes: 1) 1 worker, 1 queen syntypes in NHMB cited by Baroni Urbani, 1973b: 136, have no type-status as they are from Guinea: Camayenne (F. Silvestri); these specimens and this locality are not mentioned in the original description. 2) The syntypes are absent from NHMB, presumed lost (Bolton & Fisher, 2011: 34), but may be in the Silvestri collection in DEUN.
