Primary type material: 1 syntype worker, 1 syntype queen. Primary type locality: Cameroon: Victoria (F. Silvestri). Primary type depository: unknown (absent from NHMB, presumed lost (Bolton & Fisher, 2011: 34); possibly in DEUN).
Type notes:
1 worker and 1 queen in NHMB, listed as syntypes by Baroni Urbani, 1973b: 136, have no type-status as they are from Guinea: Camayenne (Silvestri); specimens and locality not mentioned in the original description.
