Secondary type localities: paralectotypes: with same data, Costa Rica: Jimenez, 1889 (A. Alfaro). Secondary type depository: MSNG. Type notes: The original syntype males were misidentified as conspecific; they are now determined as Aphaenogaster araneoides and excluded from the type-series (Longino & Cover, 2004: 10).
