Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Japan: Ryukyu Is, Amami-oshima, Yuwan-dake, 4.iv.-13.ix.1991 [colony 91073] (H. Watanabe). Type depository: none stated (probably NIAS, OIST, SKYC, possibly also KUIC, MNHA, UTKC).
Secondary type information:
Secondary type material: 91 paratype workers, 3 paratype queens, 61 paratype males. Secondary type locality: 86 paratype workers with same data as holotype but 4.iv.-14.ix.1991, 5 paratype workers with same data as holotype but 14.vi.1991, 5 paratype males with same data as holotype but 5.vi.1991, 1 paratype queen, 56 paratype males with same data as holotype but 28.vi.1991, 2 paratype queens with same data as holotype but 7.i.1992. Type depository: none stated (probably NIAS, OIST, SKYC, possibly also KUIC, MNHA, UTKC).
