Primary type material: holotype major worker. Primary type locality: Spain: Sierra Nevada, Río Válor, 16.vii.1985 (A. Tinaut?). Type depositories: ATPC, MCNM.

Secondary type material: 56 paratype workers, 1 paratype queen, 5 paratype males. Secondary type localities: 2 paratype workers, 4 paratype males with same data as holotype, 14 paratype workers, 1 paratype queen, 1 paratype male Encinar de Válor, 3 paratype workers Barranco del Hornillo, 6 paratype workers vic. Puerto de la Ragua, 6 paratype workers Capileira, 7 paratype workers Laroles, 3 workers Haza del Lino, 5 paratype workers Almeria, Sierra de Gádor, 10 paratype workers Almeria, Sierra de los Filabres (all collected by A.
