Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype males (number not stated). Primary type locality: India: Poona, 16.vi.1890 (R.C. Wroughton). Primary type depository: MHNG. Type notes: 1) Syntype male series also contains 3 queens, not mentioned by; Forel, 1891c. This series, together with some workers (now lost), correspond with the entry in Wroughton, 1892: 178, "120. Cat. latus (Forel) MS. Poona Dists. 14.vi.90". 2) Specimens in USNM from Kanara, LVI/6 (Wroughton), which bear “cotype” labels, have no type-status (Bolton, 1974a: 78).
