Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Brazil: Rio (de Janeiro), Constancia (no collector’s name). Primary type depository: BMNH. Primary type specimen: CASENT0902513 Type notes: Another BMNH specimen, previously indicated as “type”, is labelled “Ega. 58/6” (= Brazil: Tefé) and therefore is not type-material. A single specimen in OXUM has “pedunculata” on a label but no other data. Both these specimens match the holotype of Neoponera pedunculata (Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978).
