Primary type information: Primary type material: lectotype queen (by designation of Sanetra et al., 1999: 333). Primary type locality: lectotype France: Corsica I., “Corse var. Revel” (no collector’s name). Primary type depository: MSNG. Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 17 paralectotype workers, 1 paralectotype queen, 2 paralectotype males (one fragmentary). Secondary type localities: 8 paralectotype workers, 1 paralectotype queen, 2 paralectotype males with same data, 6 paralectotype workers Italy: Sardinia I., Asuni (no collector’s name), 3 paralectotype workers Sardinia I., Sorgono (A. Krausse). Secondary type depositories: MSNG, NHMB. Type notes: 1) Localities in the original description cite only “Sardinia, Corsica”, without further data. 2) A series of workers from Corsica I., Evisa, ix.1922 (NHMB), mentioned as paralectotypes by Sanetra et al., 1999: 333, must be excluded as the date of collection is far too late.
