Lasius fumatus Emery, 1869b: 26, fig. 3 (w.q.) ITALY. Palearctic.
Primary type information: Primary type material: 1 syntype worker, 1 syntype queen, 1 syntype male. Primary type locality: Italy: vic. Naples (C. Emery). Primary type depository: NHMW. Type notes: The species which is referred to as Prenolepis lasioides in the text of Emery, 1869b: 6, is referred to in the list of figures for that paper (p. 26) as Lasius fumatus. Both names refer to the same specimens and hence are automatically synonymous (Bolton, 1995b: 223).]
