Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype workers, syntype queens (numbers not stated). Primary type locality: Switzerland: (no further data) (A. Forel). Primary type depository: unknown (perhaps MHNG). Type notes: 1) Stärcke, 1937: 46, gives the type locality as Burghölzli, but the queens at least were dated 23.v.1891, far too late to be type material. 2) Stärcke, 1937: 46, cites 6 worker, 2 queen “cotypes”, but their implied status is certainly incorrect. 3) Seifert, 1990: 6, says no (genuine) type material is known to exist.
