Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Indonesia: Sulawesi (“Celebes”), Tondano (A.R. Wallace). Primary type depository: OXUM. Type notes: 1) Donisthorpe, 1932c: 466, cites 1 worker in OXUM (confirmed by Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978) 2) The specimen labelled as holotype by Donisthorpe, 1932c: 466, has the locality “Men.” (= Sulawesi, Manado); Donisthorpe, 1932c says “Smith, 1861b probably gave Tondano in error” (Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978).
