Primary type information: Primary type material: 18 (?) syntype workers, 3 (?) syntype queens. Primary type locality: South Africa: Natal, Zululand, Sordwana, 21.v.1946 (J.C. Faure). Primary type depository: NHMUK, SAMC. Primary type specimen: CASENT0900599. Type notes: It is not clear if all the syntypes mentioned are from the type-locality (Sordwana), or if a proportion come from the other two localities mentioned in the original description: Richards Bay and St Lucia Lake, both also in Zululand.
