Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Malaysia: Malacca “MAL-CA.” (A.R. Wallace). Primary type depository: OXUM. Type notes: 1) Donisthorpe, 1932c: 445, cites 1 worker in OXUM (confirmed by Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978). 2) The holotype (by default) apparently represents the sole surviving syntype of an original two. Smith, 1857a gives Singapore and Malacca as localities; the holotype is from the latter.
