Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype worker. Primary type locality: Malaysia: Malacca, “MAL.” (A.R. Wallace). Primary type depository: OXUM. Type notes: 1) Smith, 1857a says “I have only seen a single specimen of this species”. 2) Donisthorpe, 1932c: 446, cites a holotype worker. 3) There is an alate queen specimen in OXUM, labelled “MAL. 12, Mt Ophir, 4000”, which bears a Donisthorpe type label; it is not type material (Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978).
