Primary type information: Primary type material: 5 syntype workers. Primary type locality: Indonesia: Sulawesi (“Celebes”), Tondano, “Tond.” (A.R. Wallace). Primary type depository: OXUM. Type notes: 1) Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978, cites 5 worker syntypes in OXUM; each worker is on a separate card with the letter “b” written in the lower left corner. 2) Donisthorpe, 1932c: 469, earlier cited specimens in OXUM from “Wag.” (= Waigeu I., New Guinea) as type-series of Carebara laboriosa. This is an error as Smith, 1861b clearly stated that the type locality was “Celebes, Tondano.”
