Primary type locality: lectotype U.S.A.: District of Columbia, nr Washington, bank of Potomac River (A. Forel). Primary type depository: MHNG. Primary type specimen: CASENT0909339 (lectotype). Type notes: 1) Original type series may have been more than one worker, although Forel, 1901j: 399, appears to describe only one specimen. 2) Brown, 1953g: 61, refers only to a holotype, and Booher, 2019 cites the lectotype as “a unique syntype”. 3) If Brown, 1953g is correct then the lectotype designation is redundant.
