Cataglyphis fairmairei Foerster, 1850b: 494 (m.) ALGERIA. Palearctic.

Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype (?) male. Primary type locality: Algeria (no further data). Primary type depository: unknown. Type notes: 1) No indication of number of specimens is given. 2) According to Horn & Kahle, 1935: 78, Foerster’s formicid types are in MNHU, but Agosti, 1990b: 1487, says Cataglyphis fairmairei material could not be found. Seifert & Schultz, 2009b: 271, state that “according to our own search in German collections, type material of Förster is completely destroyed”.
