Type notes: 1) Donisthorpe, 1932c: 455, cites 1 worker in OXUM. 2) Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978, cites 2 worker syntypes (1 BMNH, 1 OXUM). 3) The card on which the OXUM (lectotype) specimen is mounted has been cut in half at some time in the past and originally included a second worker, the apices of the legs of which are still visible on the card, to the left of the lectotype specimen; the BMNH specimen (= paralectotype) is this maimed worker (Bolton (unpublished notes) 1978).
