Primary type information: Primary type material: lectotype worker (by designation of Radchenko & Elmes, 2010: 187). Primary type locality: Great Britain: England, Surrey, Weybridge, 13.vii.1914 (H. Donisthorpe). Primary type depository: NNML. Type notes: Original description includes several syntype workers and a queen; perhaps in BMNH.
