Primary type information: Primary type material: lectotype worker (by designation of Hosoishi & Ogata, 2015a: 15). Primary type locality: Taiwan (“Formosa”): Akau, Kosempo, i.1908 (H. Sauter). Primary type depository: MHNG. Type notes: 1) Other original syntypes are probably also in DEIB and MHNG. 2) A paralectotype queen nominated by Hosoishi & Ogata, 2015a: 15, is invalid as it originates in a series described later by Forel, 1913g: 193, from Taihorin, not from the type-series or type-locality.
