Crematogaster luciae Forel, 1913 an obsolete combination of Crematogaster wellmani luciae Forel, 1913
Crematogaster (Atopogyne) luciae Forel, 1913b: 325 (q.) SIERRA LEONE. Afrotropic.
Primary type information: Primary type material: holotype (?) queen. Primary type locality: Sierra Leone (no further data) (invalid restriction of type locality by Wheeler, 1922: 857; no lectotype designated). Primary type depositories: MHNG, MSNG. Primary type specimen: CASENT0908610. Type notes: 1) No indication of number of specimens is given. 2) This taxon is based on queens originally described as Crematogaster concava Emery, 1899d, from three localities; one in Cameroon, one in Democratic Republic of the Congo, one in Sierra Leone. 3) The statement by Forel, 1913b: 325, implies that all queens were transferred to Crematogaster wellmani luciae, but as the first two were accompanied by workers (and described as Crematogaster concava), only the Sierra Leone isolate remains to constitute type material of Crematogaster wellmani luciae.
