Primary type locality: lectotype Madagascar: “Centre and south of centre of Madagascar” (no further data) [Ambatomanjaka, Miarinarivo, -18.766947, 46.869107, 1344 m] (J.M. Hildebrandt). Primary type depository: MHNG. Primary type specimen: CASENT0101544 (lectotype). Secondary type information: Secondary type material: 1 paralectotype minor worker. Secondary type locality: same data as lectotype but collected by (P. Camboué). Secondary type depository: MNHN (redundant paralectotype). Secondary type specimen: CASENT0101435. Type notes: 1) The original description only cites material collected by Hildebrandt, and the only depository cited is MNHU. 2) The Camboué material originates in Forel, 1891c: 63, therefore the paralectotype designation is redundant.
