Primary type information: Primary type material: syntype minor workers (number not stated). Primary type locality: Madagascar: “Centre of Madagascar” (no further data) (J.M. Hildebrandt). Primary type depository: MNHU (perhaps also MHNG). Type notes: 1) The lectotype designation by Rakotonirina & Fisher, 2018: 35, consisting of lectotype minor worker, 1 paralectotype major worker, 1 paralectotype queen, Madagascar: Imerina, Antananarivo (P. Camboué), is redundant as this locality and collector do not appear in the original description. 2) The Camboué specimens apparently derive from Forel, 1891c: 61, and Forel, 1891c: 216, not from the original 1886 type series.
